Packs & Rarities in OSRS TCG: Odds, Foils and the Hunt for Coins

Everything about booster packs in OSRS TCG — what a pack costs, the seven rarity tiers and their real odds, how foils work, and why the whole community is chasing one card: Coins.

You've ground the credits — now for the payoff. This guide covers how booster packs work, the real rarity odds, how foils fit in, and the specific cards the community loses its mind over.

The pack

There's one pack to buy: the Standard Pack, and it costs 2,500 credits. Open it from the TCG panel or by Shift + right-clicking the credits infobox, then flip each card one at a time for the reveal.

You can tune the experience in the plugin config:

  • Pull notifications — a chat alert (and optional Discord webhook / Dink message) when you hit a rarity threshold or any foil. Default alerts fire at Mythic and above, plus all foils.
  • Rarity highlight / rarity text — see how rare a card is before you flip it (the text option also helps colour-blind players tell tiers apart).
  • Pack opening sounds — on by default; there's a distinct payoff sound for the big ones.

The seven rarity tiers (and the real odds)

Every card belongs to a rarity tier. These are the actual per-card tier odds from the plugin — the same numbers this site uses everywhere:

TierChanceRoughly
Common37.34%1 in ~3
Uncommon32%1 in ~3
Rare16%1 in ~6
Epic8%1 in ~13
Legendary4%1 in ~25
Mythic2%1 in ~50
Godly0.66%1 in ~152

A Godly pull — roughly 1 in 150 cards — is a genuine event. Pulling a Godly foil of something big is the stuff of clan-chat legend.

OK I got a god pack... I spooned it on pack 8.

Funnily enough, players often feel like commons are the rarest thing they see once their pool fills with higher tiers:

How a card's rarity is decided

Under the hood, a card's "score" is driven by its OSRS item value or its level (roughly level², with a 1.5× bump for monster cards). Higher-value, higher-level things sit in the rarer pools and are weighted to pull less often. In short: the flashier the item, the harder it is to hit. You can see every card's computed tier on its card page.

Foils — the shiniest chase

Every card has a foil variant. Foils are rare, they look spectacular on reveal, and they're worth more in your collection score (the game rounds a foil's score up by a small exponent). The trophy pulls people brag about are almost always foils:

Foils in the wild — from a genuine trophy to the flex of the least valuable foil imaginable.

In the cardcore challenge, foils also raise a whole ruleset debate about what they unlock — covered in depth in Foil Cards: What People Are Saying.

The white whale: the Coins card

If there's one card the entire community chases, it's Coins. Pulling it is a rite of passage — and the dry streaks are the stuff of bonding:

Woooo just got the Coins card — pack 180.

The running half-joke: "Coins ruin the mode until I get them" — followed immediately by "I've got nothing to buy with Coins tho, lmao." Other holy-grail unlocks people obsess over include the hammer and saw ("better than Coins, tbh").

On dry streaks and pity

There's no advertised pity system — pulls are random, and the community lives with the variance. Long dry streaks are a shared rite of passage, celebrated as loudly as the wins:

Duplicates sting too — but they're also the backbone of trading (see Trading, Collecting & Rules).

Per card, the plugin's tier odds are Common 37.34%, Uncommon 32%, Rare 16%, Epic 8%, Legendary 4%, Mythic 2% and Godly 0.66% — roughly 1 in 150. Each card also has a default 1% chance to be a foil.
How much does a pack cost in OSRS TCG?
A Standard Pack costs 2,500 credits and reveals 5 cards. It's the only pack in the mode.
What is the Coins card in OSRS TCG?
Coins is the community's most-chased card — a rite of passage that unlocks buying things you've already unlocked. Players report dry streaks of thousands of cards before pulling it, so it's celebrated loudly when it finally drops.
