Walkthrough overview

    Speak to Rat Burgiss at the crossroads south of Varrock. He gives you an empty folder and asks you to recover five stolen papers.

  2. 2

    Travel to the outlaw camp between Edgeville and the Grand Exchange, kill five outlaws for the papers, fill the folder and return it to Rat, who asks you to take a letter to Surok Magis in the Varrock Palace Library.

    Deliver the letter to Surok; he gives you a wand and asks you to charge it at the Chaos Altar.

    Reach the Chaos Altar (via a chaos or catalytic talisman/tiara, the Abyss, or the Temple of the Eye) and use the wand on the altar to absorb 15 chaos runes and create the Infused wand.

    Return to Surok with the infused wand and an empty bowl to receive Surok's letter, then take it back to Rat Burgiss.

    Rat reveals Surok's plot to mind-control King Roald. Talk to Zaff for a beacon ring and plan, then arrest Surok at the palace to finish the quest.
