Old School RuneScape minigame · OSRS TCG card mapping

A Firemaking group activity you never actually attack. Players cut bruma roots, burn them in braziers to channel the pyromancers' flames, and keep those braziers lit and repaired while the cold whittles everyone down.

Wintertodt is a members Old School RuneScape minigame needing Firemaking 50, found at The prison north of the Wintertodt Camp, in the far north of Great Kourend. The short version: an axe and something to light braziers with. This page maps Wintertodt to the OSRS TCG — the card game played through the RuneLite plugin — listing what you take in, grouped by what each item is for, with every item linked to its card. The OSRS Wiki remains the guide to playing it.

Before you can take part

  • RequiresFiremaking 50Hard requirement — you cannot enter the prison below it.
  • OptionalDruidic RitualOnly if you want to brew rejuvenation potions yourself. Brew'ma will otherwise do it for you.

The bare minimum

Two items get you playing. Cut bruma roots with an axe, put them straight into a lit brazier, and you are scoring. Everything below this is an improvement on that loop, not a gate in front of it — and every tool here can also be found in crates inside the prison, so arriving empty-handed costs you time rather than the game.

Fletching kindling — worth the extra item

A knife turns bruma roots into bruma kindling before you burn them. Kindling is worth more points per item than a raw root, and it is the single biggest thing you can do to raise your score per game, so the knife is the first thing to add after the minimum. It changes nothing about how fast the Wintertodt itself falls — feeding the braziers does not speed the fight up, it earns you points.

  • RequiresA knife

Fletches roots into kindling. Findable inside, but bring one — the first few minutes of a game are the valuable ones.

  • Any ofWhat you are burning(optional)

Cut inside, never brought with you. Listed because both exist as cards: the root is what the tree gives you, the kindling is what the knife makes of it.

Repairing braziers

The Wintertodt smashes braziers outright, and a broken one cannot be lit until somebody fixes it. Repairs also give Construction experience if you own a house, which is the only reason that requirement is worth knowing about.

  • RequiresA hammer

Repairs a smashed brazier. Findable inside.

Staying alive, and keeping the pyromancers alive

There is no food inside. Rejuvenation potions are the only healing, and one dose also fully revives a downed pyromancer through her Help option — a pyromancer at zero stops draining the Wintertodt and her brazier cannot be relit until somebody picks her up.

  • Any ofRejuvenation potions(optional)

Brewed inside from bruma herbs and an unfinished potion, or brought ready-made. Druidic Ritual only matters if you want to mix them yourself.

Warm clothing — four pieces, then stop

Everyone inside takes steady cold damage regardless of what they are doing, scaled to Firemaking level and how many braziers are lit. Four pieces of warm clothing gives the full reduction; a fifth does nothing. Below four you get told off on the way in. Roughly 150 items count, spread across every equipment slot — these are the ones you are most likely to already own or to earn here.

An axe and Something to light braziers with, plus Firemaking 50.
What level do you need for Wintertodt?
Firemaking 50. Hard requirement — you cannot enter the prison below it. It is members-only.
Do you need a quest for Wintertodt?
No quest is required. Druidic Ritual is optional — Only if you want to brew rejuvenation potions yourself. Brew'ma will otherwise do it for you.
Which OSRS TCG cards are tied to Wintertodt?
Every item on this page that exists in the catalogue is linked to its card, grouped by what it is for. Cards are pulled from packs in the OSRS TCG RuneLite plugin, and you can trade for the ones you are missing on OSRS Card Exchange.
Is there an OSRS TCG card for Wintertodt itself?
No. The OSRS TCG has cards for Old School RuneScape's items and monsters, not for its minigames — so there is no "Wintertodt" card. What this page maps is the other way round: the items Wintertodt asks you to bring, each one linked to the card that depicts it.
