Blast Furnace
MembersOSRS TCG Blast Furnace — Old School RuneScape minigame card mapping
A Smithing minigame built around a conveyor-belt furnace that only needs half the coal an ordinary furnace does, making it the fastest way to smelt bars in bulk — especially the coal-hungry ones like steel and up. Official worlds have dwarves running the machinery, so most players just keep the ore and coal coming.
Blast Furnace is a members Old School RuneScape minigame needing Smithing 15, found at Keldagrim, the dwarven city beneath the mountains east of Rellekka. The short version: ore for the bar you're making and coal, for steel and anything past it. This page is the OSRS TCG Blast Furnace card mapping — the card game played through the RuneLite plugin — listing what you take in, grouped by what each item is for, with every item linked to its card. The OSRS Wiki remains the guide to playing it.

Before you can take part
- RequiresSmithing 15The real floor — each bar then has its own level on top, and 60+ is where the coal-hungry ones start paying. 60 Smithing (unboostable) also waives the Foreman's entry fee, and is what the anvil beside the furnace needs.
- SometimesStrength 30Needed to work the pump, which is your job on any world the dwarves are not running — and it is a hard gate, not an alternative to Agility. Turning up with 30 Agility and low Strength gets you a 20-minute walk and no bars.
- SometimesAgility 30Needed to pedal the conveyor belt yourself, on the manual route and the fee-free world-hopping one alike. Alongside Strength, never instead of it.
- SometimesCrafting 30Needed to repair the drive belt with a hammer when it breaks.
- SometimesFiremaking 30Needed to stoke the stove with coke. On an official Blast Furnace world the dwarves do all four of those jobs for you, so only the Smithing gate applies there.
- RequiresThe Giant DwarfOnly needs to be started, never finished — speak to the Dwarven Boatman in the mines east of Rellekka and the opening cutscene alone is enough to reach Keldagrim. No further quest progress is required.
Feeding the furnace
Everything that matters happens at the conveyor belt: ore goes in, bars come out, and on an official world a dwarf does the actual smelting for you — you just keep running ore and coal to the belt. The ore's own Smithing level is the only gate on what you can make; the Blast Furnace changes the coal cost, not the ore's requirement.
- Any ofOre for the bar you're making
- Copper ore
- orTin ore
- orIron ore
- orSilver ore
- orGold ore
- orMithril ore
- orAdamantite ore
- orRunite ore
- orLead ore
- orNickel ore
Any of these works — whichever matches the bar you want and the Smithing level you have.
- RequiresCoal, for steel and anything past it
Halved here compared to a normal furnace — the entire reason people bring higher-tier ore to Keldagrim instead of smelting it at home.
- OptionalSomething to cool your hands with
Fill it at the pump so you can lift hot bars off the belt bare-handed. Ice gloves and smiths gloves (i) do the same job but aren't catalogue cards.
Carrying more coal
A coal bag roughly doubles how much coal you can carry on a single trip, which is most of what determines how many bars you smelt per bank run.
- OptionalCoal bag
Cuts your bank trips in half by holding a second load of coal outside your regular inventory space.
Running the furnace yourself
There are two fees: the Blast Furnace Foreman's 2,500 coins per 10 minutes to get in at all (waived at 60 Smithing, halved by a ring of charos (a)), and on official worlds a further 72,000 coins an hour into the coffer for the five dwarves working the machinery. You can avoid the second by operating an unofficial furnace yourself, or by world-hopping — but both mean doing the dwarves' jobs, and that is a hard 30 in Strength, Agility, Crafting and Firemaking. Strength and Agility are not alternatives to each other: the pedals move the belt and the pump does the smelting, so 30 Agility on its own leaves you standing at a furnace you cannot fire.
- OptionalA hammer
Needed to work an unofficial furnace's machinery yourself as part of manual operation.
- OptionalA spade
Also for manual operation, used on the furnace's coal side.
- OptionalA spadeful of coke
Consumed while manually stoking an unofficial furnace.
- OptionalImcando hammer
Worn in the off-hand to free an inventory slot — a common pick for the fee-free world-hopping route.
What you smelt
The bars the furnace actually produces, whichever ore (and Smithing level) you fed into it.
- Any ofThe bars you produce(optional)
- Bronze bar
- orIron bar
- orSilver bar
- orLead bar
- orSteel bar
- orGold bar
- orMithril bar
- orAdamantite bar
- orCupronickel bar
- orRunite bar
Whichever bar your ore and Smithing level allow — the furnace itself doesn't add any tiers beyond a normal one.
Handy extras
One more thing worth carrying — and unless you have 60 Smithing, the thing that gets you through the door.
- OptionalCoins, for the fees
2,500 to the Foreman per 10 minutes of use, skipped entirely at 60 Smithing, plus 72,000 an hour (12gp/tick) into the coffer by the bank chest on an official Blast Furnace world. The coffer's unspent balance can be withdrawn at any time.

- Which cards are in the OSRS TCG Blast Furnace list?
- Every item on this page that exists in the catalogue is linked to its card, grouped by what it is for. Whether an item is a card, and its rarity, come from the OSRS TCG catalogue; the minigame mapping is maintained by OSRS Card Exchange. Cards are pulled from packs in the OSRS TCG RuneLite plugin, and you can trade for the ones you are missing on OSRS Card Exchange.
- Is there an OSRS TCG card for Blast Furnace itself?
- No. The OSRS TCG has cards for Old School RuneScape's items and monsters, not for its minigames — so there is no "Blast Furnace" card. What this page maps is the other way round: the items Blast Furnace asks you to bring, each one linked to the card that depicts it.
