Walkthrough overview

    Talk to King Arthur at Camelot and ask to join the Knights of the Round Table. He tasks you with freeing Merlin from a crystal and suggests asking the other knights for ideas.

    Speak to Sir Gawain and Sir Lancelot for information; Lancelot reveals a sea entrance to Morgan Le Faye's keep, reached by boat from Catherby.

    At Catherby, optionally grab the insect repellent, then hide in the crates by the dock to be shipped into Keep Le Faye.

    Fight Sir Mordred on the top floor and spare him; Morgan Le Faye tells you that you need a magic symbol, bat bones and a black candle to summon a spirit.

    Get bat bones by killing giant bats, and make a black candle by taking a bucket of wax to the Catherby candle maker.

    Check the chaos altar in south-east Varrock to learn the incantation 'Snarthon Candtrick Termanto'.

    Obtain Excalibur from the Lady of the Lake at Taverley, passing her test at the Port Sarim jeweller (bread is needed for the test).

    Return to Camelot's garden, light the black candle with a tinderbox, drop the bat bones in the circle and recite the incantation to bind Thrantax, then use Excalibur to shatter the crystal and free Merlin.
