The mountain Dwarves' home would be an ideal way to get across White Wolf Mountain safely. However, the Dwarves aren't too fond of strangers. They will let you through if you can bring them a trophy. The trophy is the prize for the annual Hemenster fishing competition.

    Talk to Austri (east) or Vestri (west) of White Wolf Mountain and work through the dialogue until he asks you to win the Hemenster fishing contest trophy; he gives you a fishing pass.

    If you lack garlic, pick some up from a house south-west of the Seers' Village bank.

    Take your spade to McGrubor's Wood west of Seers' Village and dig up red vine worms just west of the fairy ring (beware the guard dogs).

    Go to Hemenster, buy a fishing rod from Grandpa Jack for 5 coins if needed, and show Morris your fishing pass at the gate.

    Put the garlic in a pipe on the south wall to drive off the Sinister Stranger, pay Bonzo the 5-coin fee, then fish the giant carp with the red vine worms and win the trophy.
