Old School RuneScape minigame · OSRS TCG card mapping

The Mess is a Cooking activity: cook whichever of three servery dishes — meat pie, stew or pineapple pizza — the Shayzien soldiers currently want most, and serve it for experience. There's no combat and nothing to bring in; everything is gathered and prepared on the spot.

Mess is a members Old School RuneScape minigame, found at The Mess Hall, just south of Kingstown in Hosidius, Great Kourend. This page maps Mess to the OSRS TCG — the card game played through the RuneLite plugin — listing what you take in, grouped by what each item is for, with every item linked to its card. The OSRS Wiki remains the guide to playing it.

How it works

An appreciation meter for each of the three dishes decides how much experience a delivery is worth — cooking one dish lowers its own appreciation while raising the other two, so the best play is to follow whichever the meter currently favours. Every recipe starts the same way, with a bowl of water drawn at the range.

Servery meat pie — 20 Cooking, the easiest to start

The lowest-level of the three dishes, and the one you can cook the moment you clear 20 Cooking.

  • RequiresServery raw meat

    The filling for the pie.

  • RequiresServery dish

The container the pie is assembled in.

  • RequiresServery flour

    Makes the pastry.

  • RequiresA bowl

Filled with water at the range — the first step of every servery recipe.

Servery stew — 25 Cooking, a small step up

Only five levels above the pie, and a simpler recipe with fewer ingredients.

  • RequiresServery raw meat

    Shared with the pie recipe.

  • RequiresServery potato

    The stew's defining ingredient.

  • RequiresA bowl

Filled with water at the range, same as every other dish.

Servery pineapple pizza — 65 Cooking, the top tier

The most demanding of the three, both in Cooking level and in the number of ingredients, but it pays the most experience per delivery.

  • RequiresServery tomato

    Part of the topping.

  • RequiresServery pineapple

    The pizza's namesake topping.

  • RequiresServery cheese

    Also part of the topping.

  • RequiresServery flour

Makes the base, shared with the meat pie recipe.

  • RequiresA bowl

Filled with water at the range, same as every other dish.

  • RequiresA knife

The only tool this recipe needs beyond a bowl.

Mess — frequently asked

What is the minimum you need for Mess?
Nothing in particular — there is no item or level requirement. An appreciation meter for each of the three dishes decides how much experience a delivery is worth — cooking one dish lowers its own appreciation while raising the other two, so the best play is to follow whichever the meter currently favours. Every recipe starts the same way, with a bowl of water drawn at the range.
Which OSRS TCG cards are tied to Mess?
Every item on this page that exists in the catalogue is linked to its card, grouped by what it is for. Cards are pulled from packs in the OSRS TCG RuneLite plugin, and you can trade for the ones you are missing on OSRS Card Exchange.
Is there an OSRS TCG card for Mess itself?
No. The OSRS TCG has cards for Old School RuneScape's items and monsters, not for its minigames — so there is no "Mess" card. What this page maps is the other way round: the items Mess asks you to bring, each one linked to the card that depicts it.
