On a brand-new account: finish Tutorial Island first
Do the tutorial and get to Lumbridge before you enable the plugin. Tutorial Island gives you items you have no cards for and your first XP — with the plugin already running, the item lock makes it awkward to finish, and the XP counts against CardMan's fresh-account check.
This only matters if you intend to play CardMan, which needs an ironman account with no levels trained at all. On Normal you can enable the plugin whenever you like.
1. Install TCG Online
RuneLite → Configuration (the wrench) → Plugin Hub → search.
Search TCG Online and install TCG Online (TheCardExchange).
2. Create your account
The plugin links to an account here, and that link is what holds your collection and credits. Registering takes an email and a password — you don't enter a RuneScape name, because the plugin reports the character you actually log in as, which is also why it keeps up on its own if you ever rename.
