Walkthrough overview

    At the Exam Centre south of the Digsite, talk to an Examiner, take the letter to Curator Haig Halen in the Varrock Museum, then attempt and fail the first exam.

    Gather the three students' lost items: the teddy bear from a bush by the walkway, the special cup by panning the river after giving the panning guide a cup of tea, and the animal skull by stealing from Digsite workmen (keep a specimen brush if you get one).

    Return the items to each student to learn the answers, then pass the Level 1 exam to receive a trowel.

    Pass the Level 2 and Level 3 exams; the Level 3 student wants an opal (or uncut opal), which you can obtain by panning.

    Use the trowel on the level-3 dig sites until you find an ancient talisman, then take it to Terry Balando in the Exam Centre.

    Use a rope on each of the two winches to descend into the Digsite Dungeon. Grab an arcenia root and speak to Doug Deeping about the bricks blocking the way.

    Make the explosive compound: fill a vial with liquid from the barrel, grind the ingredients with the pestle and mortar (with charcoal), and use a tinderbox to detonate it, clearing the bricks and uncovering the hidden altar to finish the quest.
