    Talk to Doric in his house on the crossroads north of Falador. He agrees to let you use his tools if you fetch him materials, and hands you a bronze pickaxe.

    Gather 6 clay, 4 copper ores and 2 iron ores (15 Mining is needed to mine iron); the nearby Dwarven Mine is a convenient source, or they can be bought or traded.
