When Sophanem was beset by a series of plagues, the gates to the golden city of Menaphos quickly closed. The city has been locked down ever since, with no one allowed to leave or enter. However, rumours have escaped of strange happenings inside Menaphos and there are stories of citizens mysteriously disappearing. These odd happenings need to be investigated, but few are willing to do so. Maisa, a spy from Al Kharid, has grown tired of inaction. She is determined to solve this mystery herself, but she won't be able to do it alone... are you up for the challenge?

Walkthrough overview

    Talk to Jamila in Sophanem, read the secret message she slips you, and meet Maisa at the campsite on the cliffs east of the city.

    Grab a tinderbox and spade from the campsite, head to the Ruins of Ullek, and use coal and the tinderbox on the furnace, then work an iron bar and search the well for a stone tablet.

    Enter the Scabaras dungeon, kill two Scarab Mages, and solve the lever puzzle by pulling both southern and northern levers within 60 seconds.

    Fight the Champion of Scabaras (level 379) with Ranged, then speak to the freed High Priest of Scabaras to learn of Amascut's plot.

  5. 5

    Cure the pox: retrieve a Lily of the Elid near Nardah and prepare the treatment (a cooked or raw meat is needed during this stretch).

  6. 6

    Gear for Melee and fight the Menaphite Akh (level 351) in the necropolis, then return to Sophanem and speak to the High Priest or Maisa to finish the quest.
