Old School RuneScape minigame · OSRS TCG card mapping

The Rat Pits are an underground betting ring where a trained cat fights rats for coins. Each of the four pits only takes cats at one growth stage, and access opens up gradually while helping the pit owners during Ratcatchers.

Rat Pits is a members Old School RuneScape minigame, found at Four underground pits in Varrock, Ardougne, Keldagrim and Port Sarim. This page maps Rat Pits to the OSRS TCG — the card game played through the RuneLite plugin — listing what you take in, grouped by what each item is for, with every item linked to its card. The OSRS Wiki remains the guide to playing it.

How it works

Place a bet between 100 and roughly 20,000 coins, then watch your cat fight for it — win and you keep the pot, lose and it's gone. Getting into a pit at all comes from helping its owner during the Ratcatchers activity, which unlocks the four pits one at a time, and ironman accounts cannot take part at all. It's also one of the quietest minigames in the game, so playing usually means bringing a second player along.

The right cat for the right pit

Each of the four pits is strict about which growth stage of cat it allows in — bring the wrong one and you simply can't enter.

  • RequiresA kitten, for the Ardougne pit

The only stage the Ardougne pit allows.

  • RequiresA cat, for the Varrock pit

The only stage the Varrock pit allows.

  • RequiresAn overgrown cat, for the Keldagrim pit

  • RequiresA wily cat, for the Port Sarim pit

The only stage the Port Sarim pit allows.

If your cat is still lazy

A lazy cat is turned away from every pit until it is trained up.

  • OptionalA lazy cat

Barred everywhere until Felkrash, in the Port Sarim pit, trains it into a wily cat.

What a win pays

Coins are the whole reward, plus a growth boost for your cat specifically in the Ardougne and Varrock pits.

  • OptionalCoins

The payout for winning your bet; losing forfeits it instead.

Rat Pits — frequently asked

What is the minimum you need for Rat Pits?
Nothing in particular — there is no item or level requirement.
Which OSRS TCG cards are tied to Rat Pits?
Every item on this page that exists in the catalogue is linked to its card, grouped by what it is for. Cards are pulled from packs in the OSRS TCG RuneLite plugin, and you can trade for the ones you are missing on OSRS Card Exchange.
Is there an OSRS TCG card for Rat Pits itself?
No. The OSRS TCG has cards for Old School RuneScape's items and monsters, not for its minigames — so there is no "Rat Pits" card. What this page maps is the other way round: the items Rat Pits asks you to bring, each one linked to the card that depicts it.
