- RequiresHerblore 60Not boostable. Higher levels aren't a separate gate but do matter — more potion recipes unlock as you go, with everything available from level 81, and a higher level processes potions faster.
- RequiresChildren of the SunRequired alongside 60 Herblore to take part at all.
The bare minimum
Refining is the whole entry cost: drop clean, un-noted herbs (or the matching unfinished potions) into the refiner next to the bank chest and they become mox, lye and aga paste, earning Herblore experience as they go. Bring whichever herbs you can afford — Aldarin's bank chest means you never have to walk far to restock.

Making and depositing potions
The HUD tells you what base each of your three current orders needs and how to process it. Pull the paste levers the order calls for, take the resulting base to the retort, agitator or alembic to finish it, then deposit it on the conveyor belt for resin and Herblore experience. None of this is brought in — it's what the loop itself produces.
