Before you can take part

  • RequiresCombatNo level gate at all, but the waves scale and a higher combat level makes the Attacker role much easier — this is not a low-level activity in practice.

What to bring — teamwork, not gear

Barbarian Assault has no item or level requirement to enter; it is won by four players filling four roles in sync, not by kit. Each role has its own horn, and the call on that horn tells you which attack, food, egg or defence to use — ignore it and you are useless however good your gear. What you carry depends entirely on your role and combat level, so this page maps the monsters you meet and the rewards you earn rather than a kit list.

The Penance you fight

Ten waves send four kinds of Penance at the team, each answered by a different role, before the Penance Queen herself. None is a specific 'kill this to qualify' requirement — you fight whatever the wave brings — so they are listed here as what you face, and every one that exists as a card is below.

  • OptionalPenance Fighter

The melee Penance, handled by the Attacker with the called attack style and weapon.

  • OptionalPenance Ranger

The ranged Penance, also the Attacker's job.

  • OptionalQueen spawn

Spawned by the Penance Queen in the final fight; kill them before they mature.

  • OptionalPenance Queen

The boss after wave ten. Poison eggs from the Collector are what actually hurt her.

What your Honour Points buy

Every wave pays Honour Points in the role you played, and those points buy the Penance armour and the rest of the reward set. You spend them per role, so a rounded set takes playing all four. These are the rewards that exist as cards.

Which OSRS TCG cards are tied to Barbarian Assault?
Every item on this page that exists in the catalogue is linked to its card, grouped by what it is for. Cards are pulled from packs in the OSRS TCG RuneLite plugin, and you can trade for the ones you are missing on OSRS Card Exchange.
Is there an OSRS TCG card for Barbarian Assault itself?
No. The OSRS TCG has cards for Old School RuneScape's items and monsters, not for its minigames — so there is no "Barbarian Assault" card. What this page maps is the other way round: the items Barbarian Assault asks you to bring, each one linked to the card that depicts it.
